10 Effective Weight Loss Tips For a Permanent Weight Loss

10 Effective Weight Loss Tips For a Permanent Weight Loss
10 Effective Weight Loss Tips For a Permanent Weight Loss

For most people, weight loss is just a temporary event of losing weight and these individuals will pile on the weight immediately after a brief success. They are considered unsuccessful because they lack the information and the knowledge of a permanent weight loss. The good news is, studies have revealed many valuable tips which can help you lose weight permanently. This article will present to you the 10 best tips that you can use to achieve the body that you have been dreaming about.

1: Exercise

Exercise is the most important element for a successful permanent weight loss and for you to maintain your weight. For exercise to be effective, one must exercise for the duration of a minimum of 30 minutes per session, 5 times a week. In a recent study, if you exercise for 10 minutes, 3 times a day is as good as one 30 minute session. With this in mind, there is no reason to give yourself the "no time for exercise" excuse. Try walking around the neighborhood with your spouse every day or join an aerobics class at your local gym. Once you start exercising, you will feel more energetic and less stressful and ultimately, you will become "addicted" to exercise

2: Weight training

Weight training is beneficial to weight loss in a slightly different manner to exercise. When you do more weight training, you will gain more muscle tissue and you will burn more calories. Fat is not an active tissue compared to muscle. For muscle self-maintenance, it will "burn" a significant amount of calories every day. While jogging can help shed a significant amount of calories, muscles will help you increase your metabolism even when you are resting.

3: Keep a food diary

Keeping a food diary is extremely useful in weight loss. Record down what you have eaten every day and how much, how hungry you are prior to eating, and how do you feel emotionally at the time. A food diary can help you identify emotions and behaviors that will make you over-eat and it will help you be aware of your food portion sizes. Read through your food diary frequently and try to make your meals healthier. A food diary will help you be more focused and committed to your weight loss goals.

4: Be healthy

A successful long term weight loss is when you are motivated to be healthier and not just wanting to be thin. Select the foods that will help become healthier. Use The Food Pyramid and select the amount and type of food that you should eat every day to give your body the necessary nutrients for you to be healthy

5: Find out why you overeat

When you are stressed at work, bored, lonely, angry or even depressed, you tend to overeat. For a successful long term weight loss, you have to learn to deal with emotions without eating. Studies showed that individuals who can control their emotions without eating are more successful in long term weight loss than those who simply diet and exercise but could not control their emotions. "Emotional eaters" and Chronic over-eaters can seek help from a psychologist or licensed counselor in your area

6: Join a Weight loss support group

Receiving support and encouragement from other dieters out there is a big key to a successful long term weight loss. Keep a lookout for weight loss programs and resources in your areas or you can also check with your local hospital to see if they have dieting programs or groups that you can join

7: Weight loss and portion control

Restaurants nowadays offer "super-size" meals and huge meal portions. Be careful of how much you eat in one meal. You can just ask for a smaller portion of your favorite meal or you can eat half of your food in the restaurant and bring home the rest. When you feel full, stop eating and don't try to finish your big sized portion meal and keep eating until you are stuffed.

8: Lose weight slowly

Don't start to celebrate yet if you lose 15 pounds in two weeks because when you lose weight quickly, chances are, you tend to lose muscle and water instead of fat. Muscle tissues are important in keeping our metabolism high. When you lose muscle, the number of calories that you will lose every day will also decrease. A successful weight loss is when you lose your weight slowly. Go for a weight loss of no more than 2-3 pounds per week. One pound of weight equals to 3500 calories. Shedding 250 calories a day through exercise and eliminating 250 calories a day from your daily meals, you can lose at least one pound of mostly fat per week.

9: Eating slowly

Thin people usually take a very long time to finish their food or they don't even finish their meals at all. You can shed off those extra pounds by eating slowly because it takes about 20 minutes for your brain to receive the signal from your stomach that you are full. Those who eat quickly will tend to overeat and the number of calories that you consume can vary significantly depending on how fast you eat. So eat slowly and take your time to enjoy every bit of your food.

10: Weight loss through eating less fat - but do it wisely

Decreasing the intake of high-fat foods in your meals can assist you in your weight loss goals. It's because there are 9 calories per gram in fats and carbohydrates or proteins contain only 4 calories per gram. Do take note that limiting fats is not just about eating more fat-free foods. Please take note that there are calories in fat-free foods too and sometime fat-free foods have the same number of calories as the "fatty" foods. In conclusion, you will gain weight if you consume more calories than your body uses. You will definitely lose weight if you eat less fat but you will not lose weight if you replace those fats with large amounts of fat-free foods.

Do you want to have a successful permanent weight loss and have that great body forever?

The Cause Of Hair Loss In Women

The Cause Of Hair Loss In Women
The Cause Of Hair Loss In Women

Hair is often considered one of the most valuable physical assets of a woman, as it characterizes female beauty, and defines her sense of personal grooming. Every woman goes to great lengths to maintain healthy and beautiful hair.

That is why hair loss can often be depressing and demoralizing for most women. It is thought, stress is the cause of hair loss in women, and women are stressed further because of their falling hair, which can result in a vicious cycle of hair fall.

Generally, at any one of point of time, around ten percent of the hair on the scalp stays in a resting position, which falls after two or three months. New hair then starts growing in its place.

This cycle continues for about two to six years. 'Alopecia', the medical term for hair loss, is a tendency that is usually prevalent in men, but surprisingly about two-thirds of women suffer from premature hair fall. There could be several reasons for the cause of hair loss in women.

Types Of Hair Loss:

There are four main types of hair loss that lead to thinning of hair in women. They are as follows:

Androgenetic Alopecia: It is one of the most common types of hair loss in women, which often appears prominently on the forehead, top and back of the head. Women do not lose all their hair, but it starts thinning slowly. Hair loss in this category begins on the crown of the head and then moves forward. Generally, the androgenetic hormone affects women with androgenetic alopecia.

Alopecia Areata: It is a disease of the immune system, which causes a severe patchy kind of hair loss. Generally, people suffering from this type of hair loss may have small bald spots or lose all of the hair on their scalp. Although it can strike at any age, it usually begins in early childhood. When the immune system of the body attacks the hair growing cells, it leads to this cause of hair loss in women. It can affect adults and children of both sexes but can be treated using immunotherapy drugs.

Telogen Effluvium: It is a sudden kind of hair loss, which is impermanent in nature. It is often caused by emotional stress, for example, the death of a relative, or physical stress caused by chronic illness or surgery. Women generally notice the hair loss on their hairbrush or the shower floor. It is caused because the hair roots become inactive, and consequently hair from these roots starts falling. After a period of a month or two, new hair begins growing when the inactive hair roots become active again.

Traumatic Alopecia: This type of hair loss problem occurs because of many hair care practices, such as braiding the hair very tightly, or constant twisting and tugging of the hair.

Causes:

A number of factors can contribute to the cause of hair loss in women. They are:

Hormonal problems: Hormonal problems often lead to hair loss in women. If hormones such as androgens and estrogens are not in proper balance, or the thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, it may lead to excessive hair loss. However, the correction of the hormonal imbalance can help in stopping the hair loss.

Pregnancy: Pregnancy is one of the most common causes of hair loss in women. Usually, they start noticing the hair loss after three or four months of delivery. This form of hair loss is also related to hormones, as during pregnancy certain hormones prevent the falling out of hair. However, the normal cycle of hair growth resumes after four to six months of delivery.

Medication: Medication can also lead to hair loss in women. Some of the drugs that generally lead to hair loss could include blood thinners, a medicine used for gout, chemotherapy to treat cancer, birth control pills, anti-depressants, and vitamin A if taken in an uncontrolled quantity. However, hair loss could lessen if these medications are stopped.

Infection or underlying disease: Fungal infections of the scalp can be one of the major reasons for the cause of hair loss in women. It could even occur because of an inherent disease.

Telogen Effluvium: A change in the normal hair growth system followed by childbirth, crash dieting, operation, trauma or stress could also be one of the causes of hair loss in women.

Hair loss in women can often become a reason for their bad health and poor performance at work. Hair is a delicate part of the body that demands proper care and maintenance in order to remain healthy. Therefore, it is very important to discuss your hair loss problems with qualified doctors and hair specialists, to treat the root cause of hair loss, and your hair breathes life and shines with new vigor again.

Fix Your Own Back Pain, Quickly And Easily

As a chiropractor & certified acupuncturist for 15 years, I can tell you with certainty, you can INDEED fix your own back pain easier than you realize...

If you're reading this message right now, you and I share something terrible in common. What is it? The frustrating discomfort caused by back, neck... and sciatica pain. Agonizing Pain. Unbearable Pain. Pain that keeps you up at night. Pain that is so awful... it makes the simplest of activities seem challenging. That's the bad news. The good news is that you can eliminate your back pain for good and that you can join the thousands of people who have found a permanent solution to their back problems.

No matter how bad your back pain is right now, how long you have been suffering from back, neck and sciatica pain. No matter how many times you've tried to eliminate your back pain with pills, doctor visits or even physical therapy.

Before I became a chiropractor... I suffered from my own personal back pain for 27 years. In fact, the pain was so terrible, I could barely get a good night's sleep... or... even get out of bed in the morning. You see, the two hobbies that brought me the most enjoyment in life were hiking and kayaking. But unfortunately, I couldn't do them anymore... because the pain in my lower back was so bad.

I was so desperate to eliminate the pain, I tried pain killers, physical therapy and massages. But the best treatment I ever got was from chiropractors. However, none of it worked so well. I still had the sharp, stabbing pain that ran down the back of my leg from my sciatica condition. Therefore, I made the decision to figure this out on my own. And, I became a chiropractor... and... certified acupuncturist. But then, the unthinkable happened... while I was in the Pre-Med program, I herniated my bulging disc while working. So, I ended up having to get surgery to remove the pieces of the herniated disc in my lower back. And it felt great at first... the pain was gone, and I could walk upright. But then, something awful happened.

A few years later the pain returned - and the cycle continued. I would have days when my back pain would nearly go away. But, by the very next day, the pain would return even stronger. And, don't get me wrong I'm not telling you all this because I want you to feel sorry for me. There is no need for that. In fact, this story has a happy ending. You see, shortly after the pain returned I became so "OBSESSED" to find a solution to my back problems. I ended up stumbling upon the true cause of back pain. What is the Real Cause of Back Pain? Well, what you're about to learn, you won't hear from a doctor. And, it's not because they are trying to mislead you. It's because most doctors are misinformed about the true cause of back pain. You see, when most doctors treat back, neck or sciatica pain they attempt to treat the symptoms and not the actual cause. For example, conditions such as a bulging or a herniated disc don't just happen overnight. They are caused by years and years of wear and tear on your back.

You see, for the human body to run at its best... your muscles, nerves and bones must be working together properly. However, when the muscles in your body become stiff... or... tight, this prevents the joints in your body from working correctly. And when the joints are not working properly it causes the brain to signal pain. Therefore, you begin to lean away from the pain... and this leads to muscles imbalances in your back. So, if you were to go years without treating the muscle imbalances in your body... this could eventually lead to dysfunctions in your body such as a bulging disc, sciatica, or even a herniated disc. Muscle Imbalances are the true cause of most back, neck and sciatica pain. And, this is why many of the treatments for back and neck pain just don't work. The only way to fix your back pain for good is to start from the beginning... where the back problems originated. In fact, it was treating the muscle imbalances in my own back that has allowed me to live a pain-free again.

Find a way to figure out which muscles are too tight and which ones are too loose, or weak. When you do, tighten the loose ones, strengthen the weak ones. Then, your back pain will get better!
