Aspartame - Don’t “Dew” it!

Diet Coke“Just for the taste of it! Diet….!” You know the rest. A few questions to ask yourself. Do you think headaches are normal? Do you think your nervous system is important? Do you think diseases like multiple sclerosis, Lou Gehrigs (ALS) and Alzheimer’s come about because of bad luck? We create our health destiny.

Before Learning about how terrifying aspartame really is with over 92 side effects! Let us look back to 1965 and see how it found its way into our lives.

1965 : James Schlatter, a scientist for the pharmaceutical company G.D. Searle, while trying to make some chemical concoction got an intermediary chemical onto his fingers and it tasted sweet. That chemical was aspartylphenylalanine-methyl-ester (aspartame).

1974 : FDA approved aspartame for use in carbonated beverages and dry products. People got sick! The FDA pulled it off the market. Then lots of back door dealings were done and in 1981 it was approved again as Nutrasweet in dry products and then in 1983 in carbonated beverages and carbonated beverage syrup bases. I will post the history of aspartame in a future article.

Now let us look at what this chemical does; aspartame changes the ratio of amino acids in the blood, blocking or lowering the levels of serotonin, tyrosine, dopamine, norepinephrine and adrenaline. Therefore, it is typical that aspartame symptoms cannot be detected in lab tests and on x-rays. Aspartame dissolves into solution and can therefore travel throughout the body and deposit within any tissue.

The multi-billion dollar aspartame industry would like you to believe that aspartame is safe and that you would have to drink 100 cans of diet soda a day to be harmed by aspartame. This is just simply not true. Their main claim is that the 3 components of aspartame are found in many natural foods and are therefore safe.

The three dangerous components of Aspartame are -

  • Methanol (wood alcohol), which makes up 10% of aspartame and is highly toxic (adult minimum lethal dose is 2 teaspoons), is also found in some fruits & vegetables like tomatoes. However, methanol is never found in natural foods without ethanol & pectin, its "antidotes". Ethanol & pectin prevent methanol from being metabolized into formaldehyde (embalming fluid; also found in many vaccines) & formic acid (same chemical as fire ant venom), both deadly toxins. Aspartame contains no ethanol or pectin, therefore the methanol is converted to formaldehyde and formic acid.
  • Phenylalanine and aspartic acid, the other 2 components of aspartame, are amino acids found in natural foods but always as part of long chains of many different amino acids to form complex protein molecules that take humans 12 hours to gradually break down & assimilate. When consumed by themselves these 2 amino acids require no digestion and quickly enter the brain and central nervous system at abnormally high levels, overstimulating brain cells to death and causing many other health problems. What are they? Well scroll down to see them and all their glory!

Adverse reactions and side effects of aspartame include:

WOW! I tried to keep this article short and SWEET but I just couldn’t do it. This chemical is too SOUR and dangerous to ignore.

There is a natural calorie-less sweetener that has been around for over 1500 years and the FDA has not approved for sale as a sweetener it is only allowed to be sold as dietary supplement and can only be found in Nutrition stores. This natural sweetener has NO side-effects. It is called STEVIA. If you want sweet go get some STEVIA or have cane sugar which has calories but doesn’t raise insulin levels as much as refined sugar.

Today, hundreds of millions of Americans, and millions more world-wide, consume foods and soft drinks stamped with the Nutrasweet "swirl", dump packets of Equal in their coffee, and consume Nutrasweet-flavored cereal, puddings, gelatins, cheesecake, chewing gum, diet soft drinks, children's vitamins, chilled juices and the over 9,000 other products.

If you haven't already get aspartame out of your life and tell everyone you know about The Health Word!

Even though I believe in

Even though I believe in everything you have written in this article I cannot do without my two diet cokes a day. I need them to get through my work day, I really wish I could quit and your article has helped put this at the forefront of my mind, thank you.

Cannot

Jessica,

Can or Cannot that's not my business. I'm going to ask you...to ask yourself why. Why? Why can't you get through the day without two diet Cokes? Why do you feel tired, lethargic and maybe lack luster at times? Why do you fail? Why do we feel scared as a society to enter into something new? Because we are scared of failure. Because we like an excuse one where we can always wonder "what if?...what could I have done?" Jessica, my hope is that you will realize that like a drug diet soda has had changed your biology. Ceasing it will create a physiological rebound effect: making your lethargy and fatigue worse, but if you RAISE YOUR STANDARDS and push through that....by DECIDING that you are worth more and that the effects of this chemical are real and that you want to be a better person, friend, wife, mom, member of society..you will. You simply have to decide Jessica.

It is not resources, it's resourcefulness

Oh man aspartame is crazy, i

Oh man aspartame is crazy, i dont drink diet pop or any pop for that reason... i prefer water over pop any day!

it is crazy what we as a society do to ourselves, people will continue to smoke even though it is known to cause cancer and people will continue to put aspartame into their body knowing that it is not the healthiest thing to do.

for me when i am thirsty i drink water because i know that drinking pop isn't going to do anything but dehydrate me further and make me more thirsty.
